The Epsom and Ewell Climate Action Network (eeCAN) is proud to announce that our Living Rivers Exhibition is officially open.
Following a launch event on 22 April, the Ebbisham Centre was transformed into a celebration of local waterways, featuring over 500 exhibits from schools, colleges, and local art groups.
The exhibition was formally opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Epsom and Ewell, Robert and Marilyn Leach. Led by eeCAN Chair William Ward, the launch featured contributions from the Epsom Camera Club, artist David Ede, and representatives from Emma’s Bubble Trust.
Inspired by Robert Macfarlane’s Is A River Alive?, the collection explores the Hogsmill River and its surrounding environment. The works range from celebratory depictions of nature to thought-provoking pieces on pollution and neglect.
A spokesperson for eeCAN praised the contributions from across the community. “The artwork brings our rivers to life and encourages people to think about how we protect them.”
Location: Ebbisham Centre, 1st Floor (outside the library), Derby Square.
Dates: Running until 22 May 2026.
Entry: Free, with family-friendly activities and refreshments available.
Don’t miss our next event: a Heritage Walk along the Hogsmill River on Thursday, 30 April at 1:30 p.m. Join us as we continue to celebrate and protect our local environment.
